1.Dongju saltern salt-carrying Locomotive

  • This locomotive was manufactured by America’s Plymouth Locomotive Works and imported by Korea Salt Corporation. From the 1960s until the 1980s, the car transported salt from Sorae Saltern and Namdong Saltern in Siheung City to major Salt Industry Lines connected to the Suin Line. After the two salterns shut down, the locomotive was used by Dongju Saltern in Daebudo Island in Ansan City. Recognized as an important material representing the salt industry along the western coast of Gyeonggi-do Province from the 1960s through the 1980s, the locomotive was designated as Gyeonggido Cultural Property in 2021.

2.Wooden Scutcher

  • A scutcher is a machine used to scutch cotton. Scutching is a process of removing impurities and pollutants from cotton by applying physical force, for instance, by beating the cotton with a stick. Modified to scutch both natural and synthetic cotton, this scutcher was produced in 1961 by Sinjanabipyo Scutcher Manufactory in Changsin-dong, Seoul.

3.Kia T600 Compact Three Wheeler

  • Gyeonggi Province-designated Registered Cultural Heritage No.5
  • The Kia T600 is a compact three-wheeled truck produced in the 1960s by Kia Industry (present-day Kia) through a technical partnership with Toyo Kogyo (present-day Mazda Motor Corporation). Its affordable price and easy maneuverability in narrow alleys made this model popular among small couriers and delivery business owners.

4.Shinjin Publica

  • The Shinjin Publica is a compact car produced in the 1960s by Shinjin Motors through a technical partnership with the Japanese automaker Toyota. Often dubbed “The Little Car” and “The Big-Eyed Car,” the model was popular as both a private and commercial vehicle (such as a taxi and a delivery vehicle).

5.BF101 by Saehan Motors

  • From 1977 to 1991 when BF101 was discontinued, a total of 37,000 units were produced, and the bus had remained one of the best-sellers in Korea until the early 2000s. With durable exterior, powerful engine power, and excellent fuel efficiency as strengths, BF101 gained good reputation and popularity in the bus industry. During the 1980s, bus companies in Ansan City used the BF101 as intercity, intracity, and direct line buses. The car on display is a 1981 BF101 manufactured by Saehan Motors. The model, which was exported to Myanmar in the 1990s, was brought back to Korea in 2018 and used to restore the line No. 33 bus connecting Banwol Industrial Complex, Ansan, and Anyang.

6.Trademark Dictionary

  • The trademark dictionary published by Industrial Economics in 1963 is a book that collected 856 pages of trademark data. The dictionary gives a sense of the printing environment in the early 60s and shows a history of trademark designs. It is an important and rare data in industrial history with only a few places in possession.

7.Banwol New Industrial City City Planning Book

  • It is a book donated by Mu Yong Jeong, a planner of Banwol New Industrial City, a design planning book of Banwol Industrial Complex, and Ansan published by the Ministry of Construction and Industrial Base Development Corporation.

8.Piston Batch

  • It is a batch of the piston parts of automobiles produced in Ansan. A piston receives a gas pressure from a combustion stroke that travels a cylinder shape back and forth to generate a turning force of a crankshaft through a connecting rod. The piston is a core part applied in various types of automobiles, from ship generators and excavators to buses and private cars.

9.Sambo Computer (TriGem 20)

  • It is an 8-bit personal computer released by Sambo Computer (present TG Sambo) in 1982. It was a production first to be officially exported and named ‘Korea’s first PC to be exported.’ Sambo Computer moved its factory to Banwol ∙Sihwa National Industrial Complex in 1983 and grew as a company to lead Korea’s cutting edge industry in the 20th century by producing more than a million computers a year by 1990.

10.Winding Machine

  • An essential machine in the textile, dyeing, and spinning & weaving industries, a winding machine or winder is used to wrap processed thread around separate cone-shaped spools to ensure a neat arrangement. Manufactured in 1993 by Maeil Machinery in Daegu, this winding machine was used by Jeil Industry, a company once located in the Sihwa National Industrial Complex.
